My Why

This month, I’ve been deeply moved by the strength of my Aunty Phillipa Tinirau and cousin Diane Aramoana, who have both walked through the pain of losing a loved one to heart complications. In honour of their journeys, together they have completed 50kms as part of this heart health challenge — and their resilience has truly inspired me.

Now, I walk for my Dad, Sonny Elers. He’s currently in his final days with us, bravely facing heart failure. His strength, resilience, and presence have shaped my life, and this challenge is my way of honouring him while raising awareness for those impacted by heart disease.

If you’re able to support — even just $1, $2, or $3 — every little bit means so much.

Ngā mihi aroha,

Laece

Support my challenge to save Kiwi hearts

This May, I’m taking part in MyMarathon to raise funds for heart research that will help save lives.

Every 90 minutes, a person dies of heart disease. It's the single biggest killer in New Zealand, and I want to do something to support the thousands of Kiwis whose lives are impacted by this disease every single day.

Please make a donation to support my challenge and help save Kiwi hearts.

Together, we can win the race against heart disease.

Thank you!
