In Loving Memory of Dad & Poppy – Every Step for His Heart
This month I’ve signed up to complete MyMarathon for the Heart Foundation, and this one means more than any challenge I’ve done before.
On 4th March, we suddenly lost our Dad/Poppy to a heart attack, he had been having on going heart-issues since 2017. He was such a huge part of our lives, not just to me and my sisters, my husband Kane, to my babies Rylee and Richie and their cousins, and all of our wider whānau. His loss has left a space that can never be filled.
Running has always been something I’ve pushed myself with starting in 2024, but this time every step is for him. This May I will be running 100km.
I’m doing this not only to honour Dad, but to raise awareness and support the work of the Heart Foundation, so that other families don’t have to go through the same loss.
