Run #12 and #13:
So the month of May is now over, here is my final update for the Heart Foundation MyMarathon May challenge
Run #12 was done on Saturday, May 30th where I ran 4.68km in the beautiful Mangawhai to the Surf Beach, up the trail for the most stunning views then back along the Estuary and up onto the main road
Run #13 was done on Sunday, May 31st. The last day to complete the challenge. I decided that after I had already done an hour long workout at 6am that morning, with our good family friend (and now my personal trainer 😆) Matt, that I would go out at 7am and run 8.02km to bring my total kilometres for the month up to 84.4km! (Please note the unintentional love hearts in the map of Run #13 which is very symbolic of the Heart Foundation cause!)
My fundraising goal was initially $500 and with the help of my friends and family, together we have raised over $950 for the heart foundation. My kilometre goal for this month was 42.2km (equal to one marathon) and with the support of my loved ones, I have doubled my goal and I ran 84.4km (equal to 2 marathons) this month!
I’m so incredibly proud of myself for not only completing this challenge but exceeding my own expectations! It has been a privilege to be a part of this challenge. To not only raise money but also awareness of the heart ache that heart disease causes in our country.
Thank you to all those who have supported me throughout this month whether it was those who gave kind motivational comments, messages and conversations or those who donated - all the money we raised together is going to help some deserving people!

May MyMarathon
Run 1: 2.8km!
Today’s Run was 2.8km! 39.2km to go! Let’s do this!Support my challenge to save Kiwi hearts
This May, I’m taking part in MyMarathon to raise funds for heart research that will help save lives.
Every 90 minutes, a person dies of heart disease. It's the single biggest killer in New Zealand, and I want to do something to support the thousands of Kiwis whose lives are impacted by this disease every single day.
Please make a donation to support my challenge and help save Kiwi hearts.
Together, we can win the race against heart disease.
Thank you!
