This May, I’m taking on the MyMarathon challenge with a goal that means far more than kilometres 🎯 100km for Kiwi hearts 💞 

Heart disease is personal to me. I lost my dad to Coronary Artery Disease (CAD), and like many families, we know the pain that heart disease can leave behind. That loss is one of the reasons I started running. Not just to challenge myself physically, but to honour his memory in every step I take.

The Heart Foundation’s MyMarathon challenge inspired me because it’s bigger than fitness. It’s about raising awareness, supporting lifesaving heart research, and helping protect Kiwi families from losing loved ones too soon.

Every run reminds me why this matters. Every km is for my dad, for families affected by heart disease, and for stronger, healthier Kiwi hearts.

I will finish my final km at the Selwyn Marathon on May 31, a meaningful ending to this 100km journey.
