My Story

From my high school days (1980s) I enjoyed helping mu elders where I volunteered doing tasks they struggled with. All these years on I still find time to help others.

I am now faced with my own challenges having had multiple stroked and have heart disease also.

The NZ Heart Foundation are an amazing organization and I want to support them by signing up to walk a marathon, health permitting I my even do it twice between now and the end of May.

As a result of my own medical events I am further challenged by the fact that I am legally blind in the right of both eyes, so for my own safety, I will have my trusted brain cane, Cyril guiding me on my journey.

So while I dust off my walking shoes 👞 I better organize am extra shoe for Cyril because his shoe is my guide.

All I ask of you is if you have some spare change to help me reach my target of $1,000 to help an organization that supports many New Zealanders I will be eternally grateful. Luv Deborah 🙂

This May, I’m taking part in MyMarathon to raise funds for heart research that will help save lives.

Every 90 minutes, a person dies of heart disease. It's the single biggest killer in New Zealand, and I want to do something to support the thousands of Kiwis whose lives are impacted by this disease every single day.
