Kia Ora/Greetings

Firstly I started MyMarathon because I have family that have been affected by heart disease and I feel that by participating it is a good way to give back. I am grateful to have been a part of this fundraiser. I have gained a lot from this experience and a big thank you goes out to my only donor. Although I did not reach all of my goals it gives me more drive to reach them next time around.

Week 1 - Starting off slow I wanted to ensure I could walk at a manageable pace and start getting some kms on the board! I also realized how unfit I was lol (cardio). 

Week 2 - Enthusiastically driven to achieve the goals and seeing the times and steps slowly improve was a great week.

Week 3 - Body was sore and starting to struggle as the walks was added to an already exhausting weekly gym load. I was just trying to get through the walks with good numbers. and the improvements were in the times and steps as I got faster everything improved besides the body lol.

Week 4 - Surprisingly harder, I started the week flat and I feel the lap times showed it but by Fridays last walk I had the enthusiasm to try and put a great ending 5kms on the board which showed. The pace was great from start to finish and I never felt drained of energy at any part of the walk. Seeing the end in sight it was a great feeling to have accomplished my marathon.

Day 1

Kia ora! Today is day 1 and I have walked 5.8kms in 1 hour and 35 minutes with a total of 10,354 steps. 

First km was 18:00 minutes. 2nd km was 19:00 minutes. 3rd km was 18:40 minutes. 4th km 19:40 minutes. 5th km was 20:20 minutes. 

Legs are feeling a bit tight but overall feeling great! I have had a good preparation! the last 2 weeks have been spent doing a lot of cardio. 

I set the bar where it is atm as I don't want to get too far ahead of myself! lol

Ps I do not have a compatible app as my apps won't let me download for some reason so using health app.
