Kia ora! We are the Terekia whānau aka… the Jiggly Puffs.
(We jiggle. We puff. We move our tinana for the kaupapa!)
Across May, we’re taking part in MyMarathon to walk/run to raise funds for heart research that helps save lives.
Like many whānau in Aotearoa, this kaupapa is a deeply personal one. For those past and present with heart disease, this is one way we honour them.
Heart disease is the single biggest killer in Aotearoa, and we know it doesn’t affect everyone equally. Māori and Pasifika communities experience disproportionately high rates of heart disease, and too often face barriers to timely care and support.
So this month, we’re showing up in the ways we can by walking, running, and moving together as a whānau. Hei aha? To support better outcomes for our people and for all Kiwi hearts.
