It was an early start and the sun was only just starting to rise, as we set off at 6.30am. But it was well worth the effort! It was a glorious day, which made the walk all the more special. Despite the fear of pain, she knew was to come, Harriet set off with determination to achieve her goal. She kept up a solid 6km/hr for most of the day, but the pain definitely slowed down the last few kms. Finally reaching the final 42km mark was very much appreciated.First Marathon Completed 👍
This Sunday was hard! Harriet set off at 6.45am to start walking off those Kms. The legs got pretty sore after the first 12kms, and she’s doing had to dig pretty deep to complete all 42km. The pace got very slow by the end, and although the reward of finishing was awesome, then pain that followed was pretty punishing. Thankfully she has at least a week to recover before having to do it all over again! Thank you to everyone who has supported her, she’s blown away by how much she’s managed to raise!Support my challenge to save Kiwi hearts
This May, I’m taking part in MyMarathon to raise funds for heart research that will help save lives.
Every 90 minutes, a person dies of heart disease. It's the single biggest killer in New Zealand, and I want to do something to support the thousands of Kiwis whose lives are impacted by this disease every single day.
