Running for Rieko
This May, I’m taking part in MyMarathon to raise funds for heart research that will help save lives.
At the beginning of April, my cousin Rosie gave birth to a beautiful baby boy - Rieko. At just a week old, Rieko was airlifted to Starship hospital and was promptly prepared for open heart surgery. He was diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot with Pulmonary Artesia.
Rieko is doing well, but it’s a big road ahead.
I’m taking part in this challenge in support of Rieko, the Mahoney-Iro family, and kiwis nationwide who are also in a fight against heart disease.
Any donations and support from you would be appreciated as I tackle 100km over the month of May!
